Firearms Licensing Registry

All firearms and ammunition in the Kingdom are controlled under the Arms and Ammunition Act. The Act is adminsitered by the Minister of Police as Licensing Authority. Any person wishing to possess, use or carry a firearm and ammunition must applly to the Minister of Police in writing for a permit. Owning a firearm in Tonga is a privilege not a right.

Applications are lodged with the National Arms Registry (NAR) located in the National Police Headquarters in Longolongo. The NAR holds the central registry for all licensed firearms and Licensee in the Kingdom. Firearm Licenses are required by law to be renewed annually.
